With this website I hope to share a little about myself… I'm from a small farming community in Michigan where I grew up dancing in wide-open fields with the sun shining down on me. In a small town, you learn to find entertainment that doesn't involve big cities and bright lights. Which is why I developed a love for books--all books.

I started reading young and before long I graduated from children's books to more adult books and ultimately to romances. Did I mention that I write romances? If I didn't, I should have. I also write poetry and short stories and articles. But, back to my story… I read Gone With the Wind from cover to cover when I was nine or ten years old. I read Hemingway, Steinbeck and Brontë when I was in grade school. Those books, along with others, piqued my curiosity for the English language, which in turn sparked my interest in writing.

Let's just say I was hooked. Even though I wasn't doing it professionally, writing became an every day thing. Eventually I started writing a romance, never finished it. Instead, I hopped from city to city, job to job, in search of whom I was and what I wanted to do. Still not sure who I am, but I know what I want to do. I want to write, and I want to be published.

So, that brings us up to now. Currently, I'm writing two romances, which you can read about by clicking the "In the Works" button. I'm very excited because both are very near being finished. Then the terrifying prospect of submitting them begins, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

In the mean time, I hope to entertain you with my stories, my adventures, and my love of all things beautiful. So grab a chair, a cup of coffee, and sit with me. There is so much that we have to share with each other.

Love,
Alessa
